What causes Dyshidrotic Eczema?

It was believed that excessive sweating was the main cause of dyshidrotic eczema, but it can be caused by allergic reactions, infections, fungal infections, sunlight, and harsh irritating chemicals.

Irritating chemicals such as soaps, detergents, perfumes, citrus, all can cause a break out and lead to eczema.


Allergic reactions to caffeine, teas, and soda cause also cause a break out.  Avoid cocoa, chocolate, and anything with high nickel content.

Genetics also play a role in passing down this type of Eczema.

If the skin is kept damp it will cause the condition to become worse and wearing latex or rubber gloves should be avoided.  Using material that is breathable will help reduce the affects of damp skin which leads to dyshidrotic eczema.  Even though specifically dyshidrotic eczema is not too common to occur, treatment of this skin disease would be similar to that of the usual eczema disease.
